Upper Serangoon Crescent
Our client was very specific in his design for this home- he wanted a rustic hippie vibe to the house. Unusual of Singaporeans to have such a request but we were up for the challenge. Our design centered around a statement brick wall.
For the kitchen area, we decide to have a centre island that could double up as a bar. Instead of distressed wood, we went with aqua themed mosaic tiles to add a whimsical splash of colour to the surroundings.
Instead of the typical chandelier above the dining table, we found these hanging light builds used by many hipster cafes and paired this with hanging studio lights to create a raw ambience, pairing well with distressed wooden tables and cupboards.
For the master bedroom, we decided to go along with the wood- aqua contrast and incorporated distressed wood for the laminates and a brown headboard. We then painted the walls aqua blue to build on the contrast.
The quirky mosaic bathroom wall lends a rustic and resort feel every time you step into this cutesy bathroom, especially when completed with rounded edges on fittings every turn of your head.
