There is something about earthy, brown hues that make a living space feel inviting and homely, especially when paired with wood grain textures and warm lightings. With a full-length glass mirror placed adjacent to the windows, it makes the room feel large and open.
This room has made full use of this large space by fitting in both a dining area with the living room. The comfiness of this room is fully brought out by the brown leather sofa that is the centerpiece and goes well with the brown hues.
There is a wonderful and subtle contrast on the dark blue curtains against this living space that is predominantly earthy browns, adding a simple pop of colour without being too glaring. Having plenty of rectangular shapes, in form of the cabinets, tables and the strips of light on the ceiling will contrast with the softer, rounder shape of the sofas and backs of the chairs.
With the dining area shifted out to the living room, the kitchen space can be fully utilized in the form of drawers, cabinets and overhead shelves.
The dark, wooden browns on the countertops make a good, striking contrast to the whites on the rest of the furniture, with the soft, muted greys in the floor tiles balancing out the colours.
Nothing feels more comfy than a room that is illuminated with a soft, warm glow from the lights. This comfort is exemplified by the wood grain patterns that bring about a rustic and rich atmosphere befitting of a master bedroom.
Home is where the heart is, therefore the dominant colour palette in this bedroom is one with warm, creams and browns, as seen in the borders of the furniture, wooden patterns on the walls and on the headboard of the bed itself. Some pops of white on the cupboard and the end tables lend a modern edge to this room.
What more to make a room feel fun and energetic than a simple addition of a contrasting colour befitting of a youth’s bedroom? In keeping with the wood grains and browns of the rest of the house, a bright blue stands out nicely without clashing with the other colours, along with some dark blue curtains that help the room’s atmosphere feel mellow and comfortable.
With a simple change in the colours of curtains and the bedspread, a bedroom with a similar layout can be transformed into a neutral, refined working space fitting for anyone. A sharp, clean rectangular bed, study table and the photo frame on the walls make this room feel modern, clean and ready to be lived in.
